Origin

On August 9th, 2023, iFunny^[1] user Hyperborea_2020 posted a low-quality meme reading, "A schizophrenic racist is talking, listen and learn," gaining no interactions in three years. This is the earliest available upload of the meme, but it is unconfirmed if this is the true original.

The meme uses two stock images^[2] at the bottom, one advising people not to talk and one advising people to be quiet.

Spread

The meme began to spread as a reaction image that year. As a meme, it is used to call the poster or someone mentioned in the post schizophrenic and racist.

For example, on August 12th, 2023, the image was posted to a thread on the /lgbt/ board of 4chan.^[3]

On December 25th, Redditor MrFlashy16 posted a version of the meme that removes "racist" as a comment under a thread on the /r/KendrickLamar^[4] subreddit titled, "Kendrick and kanye have 40 unreleased songs together. Will we ever get to see any of these?" garnering over 245 upvotes in three years.

On August 30th, 2024, a now-deleted Redditor posted a version of the meme to the /r/DiscoElysium^[5] subreddit that gained over 1,300 upvotes in two years.

On October 3rd, Cracked^[6] published an article titled, "36 of the Funniest Tweets from Thursday, October 3, 2024," which includes a tweet that uses the meme from a now-deleted account.

On December 3rd, Instagram^[7] meme page midwest.merky posted a version of the meme that reads, "A virgin with guitar in his hands is talking, listen and learn," gaining over 8,500 likes in two years.

On March 18th, 2026, Instagram^[8] user trapqueenzoey posted a version of the meme that reads, "A Sudanese is talking, listen and learn," garnering over 9,000 likes in eight months.
