About
Autofellatio, also known as Selfsuck, is a sexual practice involving oral stimulation of one's own penis. In memes, a Wikipedia image illustrating the practice gained popularity as a reaction image and an exploitable, primarily among Spanish-speaking users.
Origin
On March 25th, 2016, Wikipedia user Grsuw772 uploaded a vector drawing of a man engaged in an act of autofellatio based on a photograph previously submitted by Wikipedia user Jiffman (censored version shown below).[1][2] On the same day, the image has been set as the illustration of the entry instead of the photograph.[3]
Spread
Before August 28th, 2016, an unknown user posted the first meme based on the image, captioned "This is why he not replyin ladies." On August 28th, 2016, iFunny user 7667675454534323_2017 reposted the image (shown below),[4] with more reposts made by other users made in the following weeks.[5] Before September 1st, 2016, Twitter user @DamnAarielle made a similar joke (tweet shown below, right).[6][7]
In the following years, the image saw a limited spread, with the Wikipedia illustration and another similar drawing appearing in memes and being used as a reaction, primarily to mock circlejerks and self-absorption. The images gained particular traction among Spanish-speaking users.[8][9]
On March 4th, 2019, Facebook group Hijueposting.mov uploaded a "Good Night :)" comic edit in which the last panel had been replaced with the image, with the post receiving 640 upvotes.[10] In the following days, the image has been reposted by multiple users on Instagram, Facebook and Reddit.[11]
Starting in July 2019, the image gained significant popularity among Spanish-speaking users on Facebook and Instagram, appearing in multiple edits. On July 20th, 2019, Twitter user @OrdureBizarre0 posted a collection of such memes, gaining over 1,000 retweets and 3,400 likes within eleven days.[12] On July 23rd, 2019, YouTuber Apandah reposted one of the images, promoting the further spread of the meme.[13]
