Baco Tell is an intentional misspelling of the fast-food restaurant chain Taco Bell which is referenced in jokes online in a similar fashion to SBubby memes.
Origin
On July 27th, 2013, Flickr user dmajishin posted a photo for "Baco Tell" of a Taco Bell Doritos locos tacos without lettuce with the caption: "Real Baco Tell? Out of lettuce? Ugh! WTF?" (shown below) This is the earliest instance of Baco Tell being used found.
Spread
On September 27th, 2019, the Baco Tell Facebook page was created. On June 8th, Reddit user zz14128935 posted a image of a Taco Bell on fire with the caption "Baco Tell" (shown below). Within a day, the post gained over 4,910 upvotes.
On December 8th, 2021, a Baco Tell website appeared at the same time the Taco Bell website went down with a similar webpage (shown below).
