Bedroom Eyes is a slang phrase which refers to someone, normally a woman, wearing a flirty expression which implies they are interested in seducing the person they are looking at.
Origin
On September 10th, 1986, a film titled Bedroom Eyes[3] was released in the US.
One of the earliest online mentions was created on August 3rd, 2004, when Urban Dictionary[1] user Mark H submitted an entry for bedroom eyes which defined it as:
"That sensual seductive-looking glance that you (whether you are male or female) express when you are in a mood for something romantic and/or sexual."
Spread
On March 28th, 2005, YouTuber VibesandPressure[2] uploaded a video of Natty singing "Bedroom Eyes." As of September 2014, the video has gained over 1.8 million views.
On July 23rd, 2007, Yahoo Answers[5] user posed the questions:
"Okay so what exactly are bedroom eyes?"
to which user i know answered:
"Bedroom eyes- sexy way of looking at someone."
On October 27th, 2008, Yelp user Yuki M. posed the question:
"Okay. Not important but just curious. What exactly ARE "bedroom eyes?" I hear it all the time and have no idea what they're supposed to look like.
Sleepy?
Drunk?
What?"
To which user christine L. replied "Lol sexy eyes."
As of September 2014, DeviantArt [4] has over 15,000 pieces of fan art tagged bedroom eyes.
