About

The Buck Bumble Theme Song is popular song featured in the 3rd person shooter "Buck Bumble" for the Nintendo 64. While reviews for the game have been relatively average, critics frequently praised the game for its legendary title song, which has since been a popular source for remixing and recreations.

Origin

In 1998, British video game company Argonaut Software developed an action shooter game for the Nintendo 64 taking place in London, England in 2010, where a chemical factory has a spill, resulting in the insects living there mutating. Some of the insects there start trying to take over the world with their new-found powers. These people, called the "Herd Army", are caught by a group called the "Resistance", where the protagonist Buck serves. The goal of the game is to beat the evil Herd Army and defeat the Queen. [5]

The game was published by Ubi Soft Entertainment in America on September 30, 1998, and in Japan and Europe on December 18, 1998, to average and positive reviews.[6] Gamespot gave the game a 5.2/10, and EGM gave it a 6.62/10.[7][8] IGN gave it a 7.2/10, and Nintendo Power gave the game a 8.2/10.[9][10] One of the most frequent mentions of the reviewers was of the theme song, which was created by artist Justin Scharvona (shown below).[11]

Buck Bumble was a fairly popular game before the theme song started getting remixed, with lets plays being common and the theme song being uploaded on websites like YouTube frequently.
One of the earlier remixes of a title song remix was when JJokerDude uploaded "Super Buck World" onto YouTube on January 9, 2015, where the song was altered to resemble Super Mario World's theme song. The video has over 210,000 views as of November 5th, 2017 (shown below, left). [2][3] Afterward, on February 22, 1015, YouTuber AntDude uploaded a review video onto YouTube about Buck Bumble which would later get over 625,000 views as of November 5th, 2017. Much of the video is spent talking about the theme song. (shown below, right).[4]
