Butterflix Dance refers to a series of video remixes based around a transformation/dance sequence from the Italian cartoon Winx Club. Not long after the season that introduced said dance aired, various mashups appeared online, usually changing the music that the characters dance to.

Origin

On July 4, 2015, the world premiere of the seventh season of Winx Club began in the United Kingdom, with it eventually airing in the US at the start of the next year. In the season, the Winx Club members gain access to a fairy transformation called Butterflix, which correlates to their fairy animal partners also introduced at this time. The transformation sequence for it also includes an extended dance number set to a repetitive pop song.

On September 3, 2015, months before the season's US premiere, the official English YouTube channel for the show uploaded the full song and dance; as of 2023, the video has reached over one million views.

Spread

In the following years, several mashups and edits appeared.

On September 16, 2019, YouTube user TaintedLilly posted a video replacing the music with the song "WTF" by HUGEL, which has since gained over 36,000 views. Later, on December 10, 2022, the user Wizard of Elements uploaded a video setting the footage to a remix of "Bloody Mary" by Lady Gaga, which has currently over 6,000 views.
