On December 26th, 2024, X^[1] user @Cernovich posted, "Never insult the monarch," garnering over 3,500 likes in four days. Later that day, Elon Musk responded^[2] to the post, writing, "I am constantly insulted on this platform," garnering over 9,500 likes and 5,400 reposts in the same span of time. Cernovich responded, "Not by me 🫡."

On December 27th, 2024, a screenshot of the post was shared to /r/facepalm,^[3] titled, "Worlds richest man whines about being insulted online," garnering over 11,000 upvotes in three days. That day, X^[4] user @CantEverDie reposted the tweet, writing, "this is a dril tweet," comparing it to the absurdist tweets of user Dril, garnering over 54,000 likes in the same span of time.

That same day, X^[5] user @LolOverruled reposted the tweet, writing, "This is the funniest thing he’s ever posted," garnering over 300,000 likes in three days. The tweet was reposted to /r/facepalm^[6] that day, garnering over 9,000 upvotes in the same span of time.

On December 28th, X^[7] user @vanranstmarc quote-reposted Musk's original tweet, writing, "Come to Bluesky." The post was reposted to /r/clevercomebacks^[8] that day, garnering over 7,000 upvotes in two days.

On the same day, X^[9] user @selmacashmoney posted a crying selfie, using the tweet text as a copypasta, garnering over 5,500 likes in two days. On December 29th, X^[10] user @oncloud_e posted, "i am constantly gooned to on this platform," garnering over 20,000 likes in a day.
