Call Me Crazy, But I've Never Liked Store-bought Pesto refers to a series of stitched videos on TikTok with a creator who opens a cooking video with "Call me crazy if you want, but I've never liked store-bought pesto." The video inspired several users to interrupt her with a significantly "crazier" story of their own.

Origin

On September 1st, 2023, TikToker susi.vidal posted a TikTok[1] in which she made homemade pesto sauce, opening the video with "Call me crazy if you want, but I've never liked store-bought pesto." The video gained over 685,000 likes in six weeks (shown below).

On September 12th, 2023, TikToker payjthegemini[2] posted the first viral stitch of the video, interrupting susi.vidal with a sarcastic "Oh my god, you're so crazy girl!" The video gained over 1.1 million likes in one month (shown below, left). On September 14th, TikToker @notclay[3] posted a joke that he had to call the police to intervene because susi.vidal was being "too crazy," gaining over 376,000 likes in the same time frame (shown below, right).

On September 25th, TikToker fashiongirl42069[4] interrupted the TikTok with her story about how she'd recently bitten a man, gaining over 686,000 likes in three weeks (shown below, left). On October 6th, user @briannainreallife[5] posted a similar stitch with a story about how her husband vanished for hours on their wedding night, gaining over 24,000 likes in one week (shown below, right).
