Crazy Sex Positions refers to a series of memes based on illustrations for various sex positions originating from the website SexPositions.club. The images, which depict simplistic drawings of a red or plum-colored man and a yellow woman having sexual intercourse in a variety of poses, have occasionally been used in memes since 2019 and achieved viral status on Twitter / X in January 2024.

Origin

On April 12th, 2016, the online blog Sexpositions.club was launched.^[1][2] In the following years, the blog regularly posted illustrated, named sex positions of different complexity, with the collection growing to over 500 items as of February 2024. Positions posted by the blog consist of a simplistic illustration of a plum-colored man and a yellow-colored woman engaging in intercourse, a title with the position number and a short description.

Illustrations posted by the blog have been used as source material for memes at least as early as 2019. On April 23rd, 2019, iFunny^[3] user Supreme_Cheeks posted one of the more complex sex positions from the site, captioning the image, "Poop in her to show dominance." The post garnered over 110 smiles on iFunny and saw viral spread online in 2019 (shown below).

Prior to 2024, the images have occasionally been used for meme purposes online.^[4][5]

On January 19th, 2024, X^[6] user @maliktheoracle posted an image of sex position number 414 from the site named "Mexican Style," commenting, "how real lovers get it on." The post (shown below) received over 4,700 reposts and 46,000 likes in one month.

The post prompted viral spread of sex position images from Sexpositions.club on X / Twitter in the following weeks as users hornyposted and combined the illustrations with humorous captions. For example, on January 20th, 2024, X^[7] user @airbagged posted an image of the "Crazy Monkey" position, writing, "Anyone wanna come over and do this." The post received over 9,900 reposts and 84,000 likes in two months (shown below, left).

On January 21st, X^[8] user @whotfisjovana posted a "Wonderwall" joke about a position named "Oasis," with the post garnering over 550 reposts and 5,300 likes in two months (shown below, right).

The viral spread of the illustrations on X^[9] / Twitter also prompted many user reactions. For example, on January 30th, 2024, X^[9] user @amonigalore wrote, "STOP PUTTING THOS SEX POSITIONS ON MU TL," with the post (shown below) garnering over 11,000 reposts and 66,000 likes in one month.
