"Crystal Dolphin" is the name of song by Engelwood, which in turn samples Kingo Hamada’s 1982 album Midnight Crusin' track “街のドルフィン” (Machi No Dorufin – Dolphin in Town). The track itself is cheerful, but is usually superimposed with a number of videos which depict bad predicaments such as getting hit by cyclists or falling down into pits to the rhythm of the song. The meme first came into prominence in early June 2019 when a user uploaded a video to YouTube titled "Crystal Dolphin Meme."
