Dorcas is a character in the video game Fire Emblem: The Blazing Sword. (Or just simply Fire Emblem in localization releases.)
Dorcas' rise in popularity was first coined by the US commercial for Fire Emblem: Blazing Sword back in 2003. In the commercial, a war meeting is talking place. Dorcas, while there, accidentally consumes poisoned mutton and passes out, to someone then saying "What happened to Dorcas?" One of the people responds with: "I put poison in his mutton." Everyone at the meeting then bursts into hysterics.
