About
Jailstool, also known as Stool Prisondente or $JAILSTOOL, refers to a Solana blockchain meme coin that gained viral attention following its endorsement by Dave Portnoy, founder of the Barstool Sports entertainment website, in early February 2025. The token uses a picture of Portnoy edited behind jail bars and reached a market cap that exceeded $200 million a few days after its launch, sparking debates on X / Twitter and Reddit accusing Portnoy of allegedly doing a pump-and-dump scheme with the crypto coin by artificially inflating its price through his endorsement and posts about it.
History
On February 7th, 2025, Dave Portnoy posted a video on X[1] talking about his recent meme coin investments, alleging he didn’t have any crypto coin of his own (seen below), which amassed over 5 million views and 11.000 likes in two days.

On February 8th, 2025, shortly after his video was posted an anonymous person created the parody “Stool Prisodente” meme coin after the Barstool CEO made critics against crypto buyers, calling them “crybabies.” Dave also shared a screenshot of the coin’s value on X,[2] writing, “Don’t put in more than you can lose. Don’t cry like a bitch when you lose. Bye Felicia #jailstool.” The tweet (seen below) received more than 3 million views and 5,500 likes in a day.

Market Performance
At its peak, Jailstool experienced an increase of 119,000 percent within just hours of its promotion, according to Binance Square,[3] reaching a market cap that exceeded $203 million as of February 9th, 2025.

Online Presence
Dave Portnoy’s tweets about the Jailstool meme coin sparked a rise of interest in the cryptocurrency, especially among buyers trying to convince others to purchase the coin.
For instance, on February 9th, 2025, X[4] user @jackmaccfb explained how the meme coin was created (seen below), garnering roughly 134,000 views and 840 likes in a few hours.
Jailstool has taken over X.
If you’re wondering how it started or what the hell is going on….I got you.

The coin’s sudden increase in market cap attracted some “pump-and-dump” speculations. For example, X[5] user @cryptobeastreal wrote on February 9th, 2025, that one of the reasons for not buying the Jailstool meme coin is because “one whale is holding 7% that can crash the price 99%” and that “The deployer address rugged 41 projects.” The tweet amassed 46,000 views and 420 likes in a few hours.
