About

The Emoji Family or Emoji are a group of humanized blue dog species that showed up in the beginning of Samurai Jack's 5th Season. They are notable for only being able to communicate by using their antennas which contain text and emojis. While not that much is known about them. The mother and daughter appear to be the only remaining species left.

History

The Emoji Family first and only appearance was in the beginning of the first episode of the fifth season of Samurai Jack where they are getting chased and attacked by giant robots. While the characters remained unnamed up to the Fifth season's premier. It was revealed by an interview by Gennedy that the blue dog were named "Emoji Family". Despite only showing up for one episode. The mother and daughter caught alot of attention from Samurai Jack fans ever since the preview for the episode aired publicly months before the show's new season premiered on Adult Swim on May 20, 2017.

Reception

Throughout the fifth season's run. The Emoji characters gained tons of attention from the show's fans with most hoping they would return in a future episode. They also gained alot of positive reception since fans claim that this is one of the few uses for Emojis that are done right and appropriate.
