Overview

The Ahoo Daryaei Stripping In Iran Protest refers to a public protest done by Iranian woman Ahoo Daryaei (or Ahou Daryaei) in early November 2024. During the incident, Daryaei stripped at Tehran's Islamic Azad University to protest the Islamic regime's enforced dress code for women in which not wearing a hijab or a burka is illegal. A viral video of Ahoo Daryaei spread on social media platforms like Twitter / X and Reddit shortly after. Daryaei was arrested soon after and forcibly admitted to a mental hospital. Her protest and subsequent arrest inspired outrage and debate online in the following days as many created fan art that championed Daryaei. Also, conservative X pundit Jackson Hinkle shared a controversial tweet about the event, which sparked backlash against him.

Hossein Ronaghi ✪ @Hossein Ronaghi The symbolic and protest movement of the research science student is a revolt against government repression; A cry from the bottom of the heart against the oppression that has taken life from people, especially women. The courage of this girl who was attacked because of hijab and others like her are the flames that will burn the roots of oppression. Courage that arises from the overwhelming pressures, continuous and relentless repressions and inhuman restrictions that cast a shadow on the lives of the majority of society; An outburst that shows being bored by problems and deep wounds and has become a symbol of resistance and endurance. 1:00 PM Nov 2, 2024 395K Views
