Overview
Pumpkin The Gentlemen Controversy refers to discussions about Twitter / X and TikTok-based artist Pumpkin The Gentlemen and his history of posting inappropriate content and interacting in unseemly ways with his largely underage audience online. In July 2024, other X artists began posting screenshots and receipts of @Mr_PumpG's habit of drawing art that shows him kissing and fondling other X users without prior permission, as well as posting softcore and borderline sexual art on his ostensibly public "SFW" account.
Background
From April to July 2024, Twitter / X and TikTok artist Pumpkin the Gentlemen came under fire for posting suggestive and sexual content to his audience, which largely consists of underage internet users. The artist gathered over 100,000 followers on his "16+" and "SFW" art account on which he routinely interacted with younger internet users, as seen in an April 24th, 2024, post (shown below).
On July 16th, the artist drew flak for posting art depicting himself in a suggestive Kuromi (Hello Kitty) outfit to his SFW account, a post he went on to defend in a now-deleted tweet (seen below).

Online Reactions
More internet users began taking note of Pumpkin the Gentlemen's art and interactions with his audience in mid-2024. For example, X[1] user @sentineIist made a post on July 17th, 2024, showing how the artist often posts drawings depicting him kissing other people unprompted to his ostensibly "SFW" account. The post gathered over 13,000 likes in two days (seen below).
On July 17th, X[2] user @THEREALSPIDEY2D made a post about telling the artist to delete his account, gathering over 80,000 likes in two days (seen below, left).
Also on July 17th, 2024, X[3] user @FrierenTheElf posted a screenshot of Pumpkin Gentlemen's TikTok apology post getting raided by people mocking a previous drawing he had made, gathering over 27,000 likes in two days (seen below, right).
TikTok Presence
Memes mocking Pumpkin the Gentlemen also became prominent on TikTok in July 2024, with TikToker @allistersalias posting slideshow compilations of what they believe to be damning posts from the artist. The July 18th, 2024, post gathered over 80,000 views in a day (seen below, left).
Also on July 18th, TikToker @.naki37 posted a video making fun of Pumpkin the Gentlemen as well, gathering over 35,000 views and 3,000 likes in a day (seen below, right).
