Overview

Revolve Festival 2022 refers to the 2022 iteration of the California-based, invitation-only music festival put on by the fashion brand Revolve. Though celebrities posted glamorous pictures from the event, the festival was marred by reports of poor conditions from other attendees. Influencers reported fights, hot weather and poor transportation, leading some to compare it to Fyre Festival.

Background

Revolve Festival has run on Coachella weekend since 2015 as an invitation-only music festival for influencers and celebrities,[1] and took a two-year hiatus from 2020 to 2021 due to the COVID-19 Pandemic. Its return was announced for 2022 to take place from April 16th to April 17th in La Quinta, California.

Developments

On April 16th, the day of the festival, influencers reported harsh conditions attempting to get to the event. According to TikToker averiebishop,[2] the only way to get to the festival was to take shuttle buses provided by the festival itself. This led to a long line of influencers violently clamoring to get on the buses for hours on end. Bishop reported there was fighting, shouting and people putting themselves in front of moving buses as they waited for hours to attempt to get into the festival. Her TikTok gained over 2.9 million views in one day (shown below).

The same day, Twitter user and entertainment news reporter Joseph Kapsch[3] tweeted a similar report, adding that Los Angeles Police were flustered by influencers arguing over how they "deserved" to be on the bus. His tweets gained over 1,100 and 230 likes, respectively (shown below).

TikToker Hannahkosh confirmed the validity of Kapsch's tweets in her own video, adding that she saw three people pass out and the bus drivers refused to return due to the unruliness of the crowd. Her video[4] gained over 121,000 likes in one day (shown below). The same day, user madisoncrowleyphoto[5] posted video of the scene, gaining over 113,000 likes in one day (shown below, right).
