Fuck My Stupid Baka Life and Fuck My Stupid Chungus Life are catchphrases referring to a viral Tumblr post that reads, "Kafka was so right fuck this stupid baka life." The post was made by user yugiohz in February 2023 and went viral, with the phrase and several variants, including, "fuck my stupid baka life" and "fuck my stupid chungus life," referring to the Big Chungus meme, gaining viral spread across social media. The phrase is also used as a phrasal template, formatted, "fuck my stupid X life," "X" often being replaced by a nonsensical slang term. "Baka" is a Japanese word that translates to "fool."

Origin

On February 11th, 2023, Tumblr^[1] user yugiohz posted, "Kafka was so right fuck this stupid baka life," garnering over 88,000 notes in a year. The post inspired a chain of reblogs, with a now-deactivated user writing, "He didn’t say that" and Tumblr^[2] user franzkavkas responding, "yes he did" and sharing a photoshop of Kafka's journals, in which is written, "fuck my stupid baka life" (shown below).

The meme spread over the following months, along with the phrase itself. On May 2nd, 2023, Tumblr^[3] user unholyverse posted, "'fuck my stupid baka life' is the most useful phrase on earth other than variations of 'i’m killing myself,'" garnering over 30,000 notes in a year (shown below).

On November 24th, 2023, iFunny^[4] user Hoplon posted a screenshot of what appears to be a photoshopped image of Limp Bizkit frontman Fred Durst tweeting "fuck my stupid baka life," garnering over 700 smiles in nine months (shown below). Between October 13th and December 22nd, the original post was reposted to /r/writingcirclejerk,^[5] by Instagram^[6] user yall_dve_aint and to /r/CuratedTumblr,^[7] garnering 900 upvotes, 22,000 likes and 1,900 upvotes respectively in around 10 months.

In 2024, some people began to use a variation of the phrase, "Fuck my stupid chungus life." The first known use of the phrase was posted by X^[8] user @94NJA on March 12th, 2024, reading "fuck my chungus life," garnering around 6,000 likes in five months (shown below).

On April 27th, X^[9] user @vampritez posted a screenshot of a DM exchange where someone uses the phrase, garnering over 20,000 likes in four months (shown below, left). It was reposted by Instagram^[10] user nocontext.twt on April 28th, garnering over 17,000 likes in the same span of time. On May 10th, Instagram^[11] user slayworldalbania posted a meme using the phrase "fuck my stupid fungus life" that gained over 5,000 likes in three months (shown below, right).

On June 4th, X^[12] user @Baileymoon15 made a post about accidentally saying the phrase in a professional setting, garnering over 4,500 likes in two months (shown below).
