Spread

As Unhinged Home Design memes were popularized in the following months, ironic memes focusing on galvanized steel and eco-friendly wood veneers became more prevalent in May 2024 as users referenced them in content.

For instance, on May 18th, 2024, TikTok^[2] user @nutmaster2269 uploaded a video of herself crying with the overlay text "My boyfriend died falling to his death from his apartment. the galvanized steel and eco-friendly wood veneers couldn't support his weight." The post (seen below, left) received more than 2.7 million plays and 379,000 likes in a day.
