Gohan Glasses, also known as Gohan’s Glasses Reflection, refers to a still image and exploitable meme from the Dragon Ball anime series in which Gohan is wearing sunglasses and reflects a smug expression. In late 2020, the image was posted on Imgflip, titled in Spanish as Gohan Anteojos Sol, inspiring various edits showing different reflections in the characters’ glasses, which have become popular in Reddit and X / Twitter.

Origin

On December 17th, 2020, an anonymous Imgflip^[1] user posted the earliest known version of the Gohan glasses meme, titled in Spanish as “Gohan anteojos sol.” The sunglasses is part of Gohan's second Great Saiyaman costume, for which the helmet was swapped out in favor of a white bandana and sunglasses.^[2]

Spread

After its initial posting, the Gohan’s glasses meme gained traction across social media platforms as an exploitable in which people added lewd images reflected on the character’s glasses. For instance, on November 26th, 2023, Facebook^[3] user @ultimatebadassgohan posted a version of the version in which the character Bulma’s behind is appearing in Gohan’s glasses reflection (seen below), which amassed more than 633 likes and 14 shares in two years.

In October 2024, an unknown Reddit^[4] user posted a version of Gohan’s image with boobs being reflected on his sunglasses. The post (seen below) amassed more than 175 upvotes and 31 comments in four months.
