I Just Got Up, Walked to the Door and I Saw It refers to a series of edits based on a scene from a 2013 episode of the television series Finding Bigfoot. In the edits, a redhead boy looks outside a glass door and seeing a certain something outside.

Origin

On March 3rd, 2013, episode 18 "Bigfoot and the Redhead"
of season three of the American television series Finding Bigfoot premiered.[1] In the episode, a teenage boy Ethan Medeiro recounts his alleged Bigfoot encounter, with the account being reenacted (YouTube reupload shown below).

My dog was barking at something serious. I just got up and walked to the door, and I saw it, walking on all fours.

On March 5th, 2013, YouTube[2] user mgilber7 reuploaded the video to YouTube where it received over 409,000 views in seven years.

The clip did not spread in memes until late March 24th, 2020. On March 24th, 2020, Instagram[3] user succc.exe posted the earliest known viral edit of the clip, gaining over 133,600 views and 35,900 likes in two weeks (shown below).

Spread

Starting on March 24th, the format in which the part of the clip with the CGI Bigfoot animation was replaced with humorous clips gained popularity on Instagram and YouTube. For example, a meme posted by Instagram[4] and YouTube[5] user stdabbers on March 25th, 2020, received over 12,900 views and 3,500 likes on Instagram and over 30,000 views on YouTube in two weeks (shown below, left). A same-day meme posted by Instagram[6] user smore.mp4 received over 49,500 views and 13,900 likes (shown below, right).

On March 26th, 2020, YouTube[7] user Danipooper posted a compilation of I Just Got Up, Walked to the Door and I Saw It edits that received over 6,800 views in two weeks (shown below, left). On March 31st, YouTube[8] channel Lessons in Meme Culture posted a video about the meme, gaining over 90,000 views in one week (shown below, right).
