About

Ketsu Drum refers to an animated offshoot of the Undercover Martyn Breast Slap meme featuring Hololive characters Amane Kanata and Kiryu Coco, created by animator asimo953. In the animation, Coco slaps Kanata's butt before the pair dance to "Undercover Martyn" by Two Door Cinema Club. It has inspired several parodies featuring different characters.

Origin

On September 20th, 2020, Twitter artist @IglooDUDA[1] posted an animated variation on the Undercover Martyn Breast Slap meme featuring Hololive characters Amane Kanata and Kiryu Coco, with Coco slapping Kanata's butt before the two dance to Two Door Cinema Club. The video gained over 10,000 retweets and 34,000 likes in the following months (shown below).



Spread

The video was reposted to Youtube on September 21st, 2020 by user Manlet_IRL.[2] On December 14th, YouTuber TOTOPOS CON SAL posted an extended version of the meme gaining over 249,000 views (shown below, left). On February 12th, 2021, YouTuber Shadexus Ran also published a video set to the full song that added extra scenes, gaining over 227,000 views (shown below, right).

Variations on the video featuring different characters began growing popular in late February and early March, 2021. On February 20th, YouTuber 대봄Daebom posted a variation featuring their original gijinka characters based off tanks, gaining over 800,000 views (shown below, left). On March 5th, YouTuber 그린거올림 posted a variation featuring Genshin Impact characters, gaining over 156,000 views (shown below, right).
