About

Llegué De La Barbería refers to a TikTok trend in which people film their pets as if they are in a barbershop getting a haircut. The trend started in late February 2024 after a viral video of a kid singing in Spanish "llegué de la barbería bonito y bello," which translates as "I came from the barbershop nice and beautiful," was used as the main sound for people on TikTok to share videos of their pets who had just been groomed in a pet shop or simply pretending they are in a barbershop.

Origin

On January 22nd, 2019, Yim Maicol Reyes, a kid from the Dominican Republic, posted a video on YouTube[1] mentioning that he had to go to the barbershop and then singing in Spanish the results of the haircut, saying "llegué de la barbería bonito y bello," which translates as "I came from the barbershop nice and beautiful." The video (shown below) amassed over 408,000 views and 9,000 likes in five years.

On August 6th, 2019, TikTok[5] user @franksanchez1512 uploaded a video doing a lip-dub of the kid's barbershop song (shown below, left), which amassed roughly 138,000 plays, 1,000 and more than 138,000 videos using the sound on the platform. On February 12th, 2024, the kid's song was later uploaded by @barberiadebarri as the soundtrack for a TikTok[2] video of a baby getting a haircut (shown below, right). The post amassed more than 6 million plays, 286,000 likes and over 38,000 other videos using the sound in two months.
