Minecraft Pixel Art Reveals refers to a series of videos in which artwork created with multi-colored blocks in video game Minecraft is revealed by moving the camera away from its center.

Origin

The earliest known Minecraft Pixel Art Reveal was posted on January 2nd, 2019 by TikTok user @brad, who posted a pixel art reveal of Big Chungus. The post received more tahn 141,000 likes and 12,000 shares in less than six month (shown below).

On February 22nd, 2019, Instagram[1] user shizzy.biscuits posted a video in which a portrait of late rapper XXXTentacion, created with building blocks in Minecraft, was completed and revealed to the viewer by moving the camera away from its center. The video gained over 826,000 views and 66,000 likes in three weeks.

In March 2019, multiple Minecraft Pixel Art videos executed in the same manner were created by Instagram users. For example, on March 4th, Instagram[2] user fr1ck.mp4 posted a reveal meme referencing a viral video by rapper Boy Boy West Coast which gained over 33,900 views and 7,300 likes in ten days. On March 6th, Instagram users thicc.mp4[3] and vrutha[4] posted two more versions of the meme which accumulated over 700,000 views and 770,000 views in eight days, respectively (shown below).
