Mouse Pay is a TikTok trend created by user @awesome_cheese_mouse in which he asks cashiers at different stores if they accept "Mouse Pay" while holding up what appears to be an iPad case with a photo of an anthropomorphic mouse. The creator began posting videos about mice, typically using AI-generated mouse imagery, and asking people if they accept "Mouse Pay" in May 2024.

TikToker[1] @awesome_cheese_mouse began posting videos on TikTok in late April 2024, with his first "Mouse Pay" video being posted on May 12th, 2024. In the video, he can be seen asking a cashier at a gas station if they accept "Mouse Pay," a request the cashier politely declines. The video gathered over 1 million views and 200,000 likes in two months (seen below).

The TikToker[2] posted another video about Mouse Pay on May 13th, 2024, asking why there are still no stores in Ohio that accept it. The post gathered over 390,000 plays and 68,000 likes in two months (seen below, left). On June 22nd, he posted a video[3] about how someone finally accepted Mouse Pay as a valid form of payment, gathering over 8 million views and 1 million likes in a week (seen below, right).

On June 28th, the official Columbus Library TikTok[4] account posted a video about Mouse Pay, trying to pay for a stack of mouse-themed books with a slice of cheese. The video gathered over 200,000 plays and 8,000 likes in three days (seen below, left). On June 30th, TikToker[5] @clipmode.go posted a video about Mouse Pay that gathered over 35,000 plays and 1,000 likes in a day (seen below, right).
