The Joy Mei Bop House Drama refers to influencer and content creator Joy Mei's decision to leave the Bop House and start her own content house called Asian House after the Bop House members decided to controversially make content with 17-year-old TikToker Piper Rockelle in late 2024 and early 2025. Mei announced that she was exiting the house in late February 2025 after calling them out for associating with a minor. Background

Piper Rockelle Visits the Bop House

Sometime in mid-December 2024, TikTokers purportedly began commenting on Bop House videos suggesting they add content creator Piper Rockelle to the house, who was 17 years old at the time. On December 17th, BopHouse posted a skit video to TikTok joking about the suggestion in which they were all arrested for adding Piper to the house, garnering over 18.4 million views in 10 days.

On December 18th, 2024, Piper Rockelle posted a video on her TikTok page responding to the skit in which she danced under the caption, "dw girls I will bail you out," garnering over 10.7 million views in nine days.

On February 23rd, 2025, Piper Rockelle started posting content on TikTok with members of the Bop House, seemingly recording them at the Bop House. The content notably included dancing videos. Some of the videos were allegedly taken at Sophie Rain's house.

For example, on that day, Piper Rockelle posted a video to TikTok (@piperrockelle) that gained over 7 million views in four days.

Joy Mei Calls Out the Bop House

On February 22nd, 2025, Joy Mei (@Joyy.mei) posted a video on TikTok^[1] in which she performed a dance over the caption, "I refuse to be at the BopHouse today. If yk yk," garnering over 11.1 million views in just over a week.

Later that night, Mei posted another video to TikTok^[2] explaining herself, confirming that she doesn't want to go to the house because Piper Rockelle is a minor and she doesn't want to be associated with her in the context of the Bop House. She continued, saying it was "ridiculous" that the Bop House would do that. The video garnered over 8.9 million views in the same span of time.

Joy Mei Leaves the Bop House

On February 25th, 2025, Joy Mei posted a video to her TikTok^[3] account (@joyy.mei) announcing that she was leaving the Bop House. In the video, she claims that she is done with the "consistent gaslighting, the stupid drama and doing anything for views," calling the other members "vultures" and saying they'll "prey on anything to get the next viral video." The video gained over 10 million views in a week.

Later that day, Mei posted another video to TikTok^[4] in which she cleared up that she was 18 when she started social media and that she was not attacking Piper but that the Bop House knew better than to collaborate with her.

She also calls out the technicality of them making videos at Sophie Rain's house rather than the Bop House itself, saying the Bop House "is not a location" but a collection of creators, garnering over 3.7 million views in a week.

On February 26th, 2025, Mei posted a longer video to her YouTube^[13] channel explaining why she left the Bop House at length, garnering over 125,000 views in six days.

The video begins with Mei sharing a clip of herself throwing a book at Aishah Sofey while they're arguing about her leaving the house. She says throwing the book was justified, as she told Aishah to leave multiple times.

Joy Mei Starts Asian House

On March 1st, 2025, Joy Mei posted the first video to the Asian House Instagram^[5] and TikTok^[6] pages, a content house started by Mei consisting of Asian content creators and OnlyFans models, garnering over 1.4 million views in three days on the latter. The TikTok account garnered over 144,000 followers in the same span of time.

The account continued to post videos over the following days, each gaining at least a million views in three days.

For example, on March 3rd, the Asian House posted a video to TikTok^[7] asking members of the house "what Asian" they are, garnering over 1.3 million views in a day.

Bop House Members' Reactions

The launch of the Asian House inspired mixed reactions from the other members of the Bop House.

On February 27th, 2025, Sophie Rain posted a video to TikTok^[8] claiming that she would still support Asian House and Joy Mei, garnering over 10 million views in five days.

On February 28th, Bop House member Summer Iris posted a video to TikTok^[9] claiming that Mei just said she wanted to rejoin the Bop House, but then made Asian House, garnering over 1.5 million views in four days. The description reads, "I thought we made up 💀."

On March 1st, 2025, TikToker^[10] @realalinnarosee posted a video dancing with Joy under the caption, "I am still in the bop house but I support the Asian house too," garnering over 3.5 million views in three days.

Over the following days, Sophie Rain's videos about Asian House and Joy Mei became increasingly negative. For example, on March 1st, she posted a video to TikTok^[11] claiming the Bop House is better than the Asian House that gained over 13 million views in three days.

On March 3rd, 2025, Rain posted a video to TikTok^[12] laughing over the idea of Asian House surpassing the Bop House in followers, garnering over 3.6 million views in a day.
