Brian Szasz / Titanic Submarine Billionaire Stepson

Brian Szasz, also known as the Titanic Submarine Billionaire Stepson and Blink-182 Stepson, is the stepson of British billionaire Hamish Harding, who was among the five people on board the OceanGate Expeditions Titan submersible that went missing in late June 2023. Since the news of his stepdad going missing went viral, many people began to look into Szasz and his online presence, leading to backlash against him for previous social media posts and behavior, as well as memes.

History

On June 18th, 2023, OceanGate's Titan submarine went missing after one hour and 45 minutes from the beginning of its mission to explore the wreckage of the RMS Titanic. Among the tourists present on the submersible was the British billionaire Hamish Harding. The following day, his stepson Brian Szasz quote tweeted a post by BBC Breaking News about the missing submersible on his @audioguy182^[1] Twitter account, stating that his stepdad was one of the tourists aboard the sub (seen below).

Two days later, Szasz tweeted^[2] footage of him at a Blink-182 concert, which he then followed up with a tweet^[3] stating how Blink-182 is great for getting through life's tough times, which originally earned him over 1,200 likes in one day before he began to receive criticism online for attending the concert and deleted the post (shown below).

OnlyFans Model Tweet

On June 21st, 2023, Brian Szasz quote tweeted^[3] a post by OnlyFans model @Perfexiaa, replying that he would like her to sit on him (shown below, left). This QRT taking place right after his post about keeping his family in everyone's prayers led to him garnering further backlash, with many calling it inappropriate that he would be "horny on main" while going through a tragedy (shown below, right).

Massacre Threats And Stalking-Related Arrests

On June 20th, 2023, Twitter user @annikant_even^[4] uploaded a series of screenshots with context on Brian Szasz from 2021 in which he had threatened to shoot up a music festival called Trilogy, for which he was later arrested (shown below), as well as evidence of him being in trouble for allegedly stalking the DJ Alison Wonderland, causing many to take back their support for Szasz.

On June 21st, 2023, Twitter^[5] user @OyasumiRoro posted a tweet alleging that they too were a stalking victim of Brian Szasz and were not notified of his release after he was jailed for less than two years (seen below). The tweet gathered over 2,000 likes before @OyasumiRoro turned their account private.

On June 21st, 2023, musician Cray^[6] posted a tweet (seen below, left) acknowledging a photo internet users had discovered that showed Brian Szasz and her posing together,^[7] with Szasz doing a hover hand over her shoulder (seen below, right).

Various internet users closely following the news about the missing submarine posted memes reacting to the unfolding news about Szasz's criminal background, with Twitter^[8] user @theashleyray posting a meme on June 20th (referring to the Blink-182 concert) and gathering over 115,000 likes in two days (seen below, left). On June 21st, Twitter^[9] user @miss_pidgey posted a Pepe Silvia meme about the developments, gathering over 60,000 likes in a day (seen below, right).

Cardi B Video and Feud

On June 21st, 2023, rapper Cardi B posted an Instagram Story reacting to the developments surrounding Brian Szasz and the backlash he was receiving, criticizing him further in a video in which she used a filter featuring a skinless human wrapped around her (reupload shown below).^[11]

Shortly after, Szasz then responded to the video in a since-deleted tweet,^[10] calling Cardi B's latest releases "trash" and suggesting her career was "this desperate for attention now" (seen below).

The feud between Szasz and Cardi B subsequently garnered significant media coverage from outlets such as Complex,^[12] NME,^[13] Pop Base and many others (shown below, top). The beef also resulted in memes being made about it, such as Twitter user @boredjesse on June 21st, receiving over 22,600 likes and 770 retweets in 22 hours (shown below, bottom).
