David Cameron is a British politician who has served as the leader of the Conservative Party since 2005 and and the Prime Minister of the United Kingdom since 2010.[1]
History
In 1997, Cameron ran for his first political campaign in Stafford for the membership in the Parliament with the Conservative Party in the general election, but he was defeated by a swing close.
2001 Geneal Election
In 2001, he ran again for the parliamentary membership in the general election and was elected to the office in the Oxfordshire constituency of Witney. In the years following his political debut in 2001, Cameron quickly rose to the leadership within the Conservative Party;
2005 Conservative Leadership Election
In 2005, Cameron was appointed as the Conservative Party's head of policy co-ordination during the 2005 general election campaign and soon elected as the leader of the Conservative Party that same year.
2010 General Election
In 2010, Cameron became the Prime Minister of the United Kingdom as the leader of a coalition between the Conservatives and Liberal Democrats.
2015 Re-Election
In 2015, Cameron was re-elected as Prime Minister with the Conservative Party winning a surprise parliamentary majority for the first time since 1992.
