Phatso is a character that is viewed as both adorable, cursed and stupid looking making it a great thing for people to imagine scenarios with. Questions like "how does a phatso taste like", "let's go to a phatso amusment park!", "i want to confess to my crush with a phatso cookie" or "what is a phatso made of?" are often asked when the topic arises by someone adoring the character. In some groups you see people who have quite an "obesion" with this character, which are usually the ones who bring it up causing the rest of the group to talk about it as well.

Spread

The meme first became a thing on a discord server called "Will Stetson" made by an English cover artist of Vocaloid songs by a user called Melodee.
From there on it started to spread more to other Utaite discord servers and then Anime or Osu related servers. Right now a spread is starting on a small portion of League of Legends streamers.

The character also has an animation of it rolling, apparently made by someone inspired by the character thinking it would have a difficult time rolling out of bed. The user making this animation is called The Soul .

Origin

The user told that the meme originated before it's chain reaction from a drawing she made when she was in a funny mood and asked people if they thought she was hot or sexy. They gave a lot of strange sounding detail regarding the questions that were asked, example the answer to "what is a phatso made of" was answered with "if you open a phatso, inside it is another smaller phatso, and inside that phatso another one. like an infinite cycle of babushkas".

For the rest people make Phatso join other hypes like the MacDonalds Genshin Impact collection and have her cosplay as other characters like Winry Rockbell.

She also brought more attention towards the comment of davie504 by sitting on "his gf" (a bass).

Some people make noises for Phatso to give the imaginary character more of a voice and personality.

There's a lot of people which Phatso attracts, but she can also do the complete opposite. This rarely gets heated and the serious approach to reviewing Phatso as a character will end up getting giggled at.
