Origin

On January 29th, 2025, Redditor u/Esagonoso made a post to the subreddits /r/thomastheplankengine^[1] and /r/Ningen,^[2] a Dragon Ball shitposting subreddit, sharing a meme they made that was based on a dream they had.

The post title reads, "I dreamed that Omega Shenron from Dragon Ball GT was unable to kill Goku and Vegeta while they were in a bus. This hurt him so much that he stopped being evil and became a teacher in my school." The meme depicts Shenron unable to kill Goku and Vegeta, then teaching in a classroom, saying to the class, "In my 10 days of teaching I've never seen a class this bad." The post gained over 500 upvotes on the former subreddit and 6,000 on the latter in a week.

The meme in general inspired a trend in which Dragon Ball characters are depicted working at a school. Similarly, a spinoff format was popularized that involves editing the "10 Days of Teaching" meme to replace Shenron.

The earliest known example of the meme was posted by X^[3] user @AsthmaticMage on January 31st in which they've replaced Shenron with Patchouli from Touhou Project, garnering over 2,900 likes in six days.

Spread

The meme continued to spread over the following days. On February 1st, 2025, Instagram^[4] user cheemsitz posted a version of the meme replacing the teacher with Scoobert, garnering over 6,500 likes in five days.

On February 5th, X^[5] user @itsqueazy posted a version of the meme based on the Persona video game series, garnering over 7,300 likes in a day.

Later that day, X^[6] user @srar_Jerma posted a version of the meme replacing the teacher with an image of streamer Jerma985, garnering over 33,000 likes in a day.
