Pop That Pussy At Kohl's / Radio Ad TikTok Parodies refer to a series of TikToks which parody radio commercial voiceovers for family-friendly brands like Old Navy, Kohl's, Bed Bath and Beyond, etc. The majority of these TikToks spread from user @_periodpad.

Origin

On October 11th, 2022, TikToker @_periodpad^[1] posted a parody of a Kohl's radio ad, leading with "Pop your pussy this summer at Kohl's!" and sprinkling in other crass language in what otherwise sounds like a generic radio ad. The video gained over 318,000 views in two months (shown below, left). On October 30th, she used TikTok's text-to-speech voice with her original audio, gaining over 4.3 million views in nearly two months (shown below, right).

Spread

Over the following weeks, @_periodpad continued creating more ads in a similar vein, garnering attention and reposts across TikTok. Also on October 30th, she posted a variation using Old Navy that proved to be her most popular iteration of the meme to date, gaining over 19 million views (shown below, left). On November 8th, TikToker @Crayron posted a variation that made it sound as though it came on the radio, gaining over 100,000 likes in six weeks (shown below, right).

The proliferation of these videos led many users to prank their parents and by telling them the ads were legitimate. On December 11th, TikToker kennedisimonne posted such a video, gaining over 3.2 million likes in ten days (shown below, left). On December 16th, user zitismama posted a similar video that gained over 2.5 million likes in less than a week (shown below, right).
