Spread

On January 21st, Twitter[4] user @Kingtav_ tweeted the video with the caption "Every time i think about Saturday night…" The video received more than 2.4 million views in less than two week (shown below).



That day, Twitter[5] user @flawless tweeted the video with the caption "would you like to donate to st. jude’s." The tweet received more than 13,000 retweets, 43,000 likes and 3 million views in less than 10 days (shown below).


These two posts helped spread the video to millions. That day, using @Kingtav's video, Twitter[5] user @umcornell tweeted, "remember when you used to talk t-." The tweet received more than 28,000 retweets and 72,000 likes in less than ten days.



Over the next week, more people used the video as a punchline. On January 22nd, Twitter[2] user @phatsomali tweeted the video with about the lyrics to the Dolly Parton song "Jolene."[3] Within one week, the video received more than 8,400 retweets and 24,000 likes (shown below).


On January 25th, Twitter user @Shunnylove_ claimed to be the woman in the video. She wrote, "All I wanted was to get my hair slayed for my birthday by @KeishaHermes and I became a meme 😂😂😂 tag the best ones though I wanna see them all 😂😂😂." The tweet received more than 1,500 retweets and 5,400 likes in five days (shown below).

On January 28th, 2019, PopBuzz[6] published an article about the meme.
