"Skill" Crane Squidward

Skill Crane Squidward has been used to mock simple yet successful strategies in fighting games, such as Ice Climber's grab in Super Smash Brothers Melee. The image is made up of four screenshots of the Spongebob Squarepants season 4 episode "Skill Crane", in which Squidward attempts to win a prize from the claw machine. The first panel shows Squidward trying to concentrate on the claw, and the second shows a close up of a green "Grab" button. The next panel features Squidward pressing the button in a panic, followed by the last panel of the claw machine reading "YOU WIN". This final image is from another scene where Spongebob wins his second prize. The poster will usually Photoshop features of the character in question over Squidward, and edit the text underneath the green button to reflect the allegedly easy strategy (though the original image was unedited as "Grab" was the tactic in question). The meme appears to have originated in the Smash Amino from the user Myrraid, and has since reached Instagram where it has been used to represent the average Ness players game plan in Super Smash Brothers Ultimate.
