WAY OF THE DRUNKEN MASTER The Way of the Drunken Master teaches its students to move with the jerky, unpredictable movements of a drunkard. A drunken master sways, tottering on unsteady feet, to present what seems like an incompetent combatant who proves frustrating to engage. The drunken master's erratic stumbles conceal a carefully executed dance of blocks, parries, advances, attacks, and retreats. A drunken master often enjoys playing the fool to bring gladness to the despondent or to demonstrate humility to the arrogant, but when battle is joined, the drunken master can be a maddening, masterful foe. DRUNKEN MASTER'S BREW (NEW) Starting at 3rd level when you choose this monastic tradition, you gain the ability create a special potion that only you can gain benefits from. Whenever you complete a short or long rest, you can choose to brew doses of this potion by spending 1 ki point for each dose created. Each dose of the potion confers upon you a Benefit and a Penalty, as shown in the Drunken Master's Brew Effects table. You can brew a number of doses equal to twice your proficiency bonus each time you choose to brew the potion, provided that you have enough ki points. DRUNKEN MASTER'S BREW EFFECTS Level of Dose Benefit 1 Intoxicated Frenzy: On your turn when you use the Attack action, you can make one additional attack with an unarmed strike, provided that you target at least two different creatures with melee weapon attacks on that turn. 2 Unpredictable: You can use your reaction to impose disadvantage against one attack you can see against yourself per round. 3 Drunkard's Luck: You can add a roll of your Martial Art's die to one ability check, attack roll, or saving throw for yourself once per round. You can add this after the roll is made but before the outcome is determined. Penalty Careful Walk: Your movement speed is reduced by 10 feet, as your battlefield stumble slows down your walking. Blurry: Your vision becomes blurry past 30 feet such that you can't see beyond this range. Any attacks against you made from this range or farther have advantage. Inebriated: You have a -2 to your AC and disadvantage on Dexterity saving throws. As a bonus action, you can choose to consume any number of doses of the special potion you have brewed beforehand. When you do so, you gain both the Benefit and Penalty applied to your character for that dose level and all lower dose levels until the end of the potion's duration, which lasts 1 hour or until you fall unconscious. A consumed dose cannot be reused. You can choose to take additional doses as a bonus action while the effects of previous doses are active, gaining that doses' Benefit and Penalty as well as those of all lower level doses. Consuming more doses does not extend the effects of the potion past the 1 hour limit determined when the first dose was consumed, and drinking more than three doses at a time grants no additional effects. You can brew this potion only two times per long rest at 3rd level, and brewing the doses takes one minute each. The doses become inert if not consumed within 24 hours or before you finish a long rest, granting no benefits or penalties when this occurs. As a master brewer, you can flavor these drinks however you desire. At 11th level in this tradition, you gain an additional brewing ability per day, allowing you to brew the potion up to three times per long rest. BONUS PROFICIENCIES (CHANGED) Also when you choose this tradition at 3rd level, you gain proficiency in the Performance skill if you don't already have it. Your martial arts technique mixes combat training with the precision of a dancer and the antics of a jester. Additionally, you gain proficiency using improvised weapons, which count as Monk weapons for you and can be used as part of your normal Attack action. You also gain proficiency with brewer's supplies.
