Overview

MiSide is an indie horror game created by Aihasto and published by IndieArk. The game follows the player as he is sucked into a mobile game where he cares for a digital girl with yandere tendencies named Mita. The player then finds himself trapped in the game as she grows increasingly psychotic and obsessive. The game was released on Steam in December 2024, and received generally positive reviews from players.

History

Miside was first announced by developer Aihasto on August 28th, 2022. The developer posted a menu screen from the game to Twitter[1] (now X), writing, "Hi! A new game with tamagotchi is in development – Miside. Cute girl is awaiting for you whom you will take care of! Is it all that simple? A surprise awaits…"

On July 1st, 2023, the developer posted a demo video to YouTube[2] gathering over 132,000 views in a year.



The creator released the game on Steam[3] December 10th, 2024, describing the story on their Itch.io[4] profile as follows:

MiSide is an adventure game with horror elements, telling the story of a simple guy who, for mystical reasons, finds himself in a mobile simulation. Appearing in the house he has just observed on his smartphone screen, the hero becomes confused. The stunned guy follows the instructions of a certain device he discovered in the bedroom. A few moments later, he is greeted by a pretty girl, whose image is also familiar to the young man from this mobile game.

The official Steam trailer for the game was posted to YouTube[5] on December 2nd, 2024, and is shown below.



Online Presence

Niche Gamer's official X[6] account posted a snippet of the aforementioned trailer on December 3rd, 2024, gathering over 24,000 likes in two weeks.

On December 11th, X[7] user @rods_skyfish posted a clip of how the game stops the player from exiting the game easily, gathering over 13,000 likes in a week.


Markiplier posted a YouTube[8]video about playing the game on December 13th, 2024, gathering over 1.9 million views in three days.



On December 15th, 2024, X[10] user @zixi_zixi posted a version of Ibai Llanos Explaining Things


On December 16th, 2024, X[9] user @LionPepperX posted fan art featuring Mita from MiSide, gathering over 100 likes in a day.
