Origin

On December 31st, 2022, TikToker[1] not_an_undercover_cop posted a video in which he pretended to quit TikTok. However, at the end of the video, not_an_undercover_cop quickly flashed a text post that read, "THANK YOU TO THE 2 MILLION PEOPLE WHO FOLLOW ME. I'M BANKING ON THE FACT HAT THE VAST MAJORITY OF PEOPLE WON'T WATCH UNTIL THE END, LET ALONE READ THIS. I'M NOT ACTUALLY LEAVING. LOL. PLEASE START A RUMOR IN THE COMMENTS THAT I LEFT BECAUSE OF THE, 'MAYONNAISE THING' THAT HAPPENED BETWEEN @THEFRONK AND ME. BE VAGUE AND DON'T EXPLAIN ANY FURTHER. IF PEOPLE ASK, JUST SAY IT'S COMPLICATED OR THAT USING CERTAIN WORDS TO EXPLAIN IT MIGHT GET YOU BANNED. SINCERELY THANK YOU FOR WATCHING MY VIDEOS." Over the course of two days, the video received roughly 3.1 million plays and 523,400 likes (shown below).
