What Is 'JuggTok' And 'SlimeTok?' The TikTok Subcultures Spamming 'TS PMO,' The 'Dead Rose Emoji' And 'Druski Dancing' Explained

JuggTok and SlimeTok have quickly become two of the most dominant TikTok subcultures in the big 2025. Chances are, you've seen one of the many video memes that fall into these two genres.
For instance, if you've seen Druski Dancing or the slang terms TS PMO ICL spammed in walls of text, you've already been tainted by the so-called "JuggTokers" and their far-reaching meme templates.
However, where did JuggTok come from? What does it mean? Also, what is SlimeTok? Are the two subcultures even different? Let's explain.

What Does 'JuggTok' Mean?
JuggTok is a portmanteau of the slang term "jugg" and "TikTok." Jugging is AAVE slang that roughly means stealing. It most often means a type of robbery in which the criminal follows the victim after they withdraw money from an ATM.
"Jugging" has made its way into the lyrics of many famous rap songs, especially in the 2010s. For instance, Fetty Wap has a song called "Jugg" from the same 2016 album that "Trap Queen" comes from.
During peak SoundCloud Rap, Rich The Kid, Playboi Carti and Kodak Black joined forces on the song "Plug." The hook has the famous bar, "I was jugging, finessing and flexing, until I ran into the plug."
Where Did 'JuggTok' Come From?
Late last year, "jugging" and "jugg" went viral in a series of TikTok videos. It was mashed with other trending slang terms like "fine shyt" and, like many other pieces of internet slang, started to lose its meaning. Using the term ironically and nonsensically became the joke, ultimately leading to the JuggTok memes that exist today.
One of the first JuggTok memes was "I will not jugg in class" which was riffing on the viral "hood" Bart Simpson artwork I Will Not Rap In Class. Meme creators started writing, "I will not jugg in class," in vertical stacks of text, resembling the repeating sentences written on the Simpson's chalkboard.

The term "JuggTok" was first used by a TikToker named @jugginnmysleep in early November of last year. The next day, one of their videos, also using the #juggtok hashtag, went viral, cementing the genre's name.
Although that's when the term was coined, some "OG JugTokkers" would argue that the genre predates any formal name. For instance, a TikToker named @tai1lor posted a video in January, expressing nostalgia for "old JuggTok," saying that the genre had been "gentrified."
In the comment section, others reminisced about alleged JuggTokers of the before times, naming since-deleted users like gloinpce, stanclickn and jd. The latter two largely spread the JD You Coming to Practice? meme in July 2024.

If all of this is confusing, don't worry, you're not alone. Part of JuggTok is being "underground" and "niche." Gatekeeping is tied to the TikTok subculture because if it became mainstream, nobody would want to associate with it anymore.
With this in mind, some people have even identified a prior subculture named GIFTok which was the first genre abandoned for JuggTok when it became mainstream. Trends like Emo Kid Clutching and the Kevin Gates, Rick Ross and Mike Epps Emotes have been attributed to the community. They're all GIFs that were used and appreciated by TikTokers, hence the name "GIFTok."

What Are Some 'JuggTok' Memes?
Perhaps the most iconic JuggTok meme is Druski Dancing which shows internet comedian Druski doing a little shuffle. He first did the dance move on a Kai Cenat stream with Kevin Hart and later did it when walking out for The Jennifer Hudson Show.
Meme creators last December added long-form captions to the clips, resembling the format of the "I will not jugg in class" meme. The captions had slang overload and quickly mutated over time, mirroring the absurdity and degradation in other then-trending memes like Chopped Chin.

Some of the slang in Druski Dancing memes were the abbreviations TS, PMO and ICL. They each have their own meaning but when people started using TS incorrectly, a slew of intentional misuse hit the timeline, devolving the original meanings of each acronym.
Eventually, TS PMO ICL became gibberish, expressed in viral memes that showed Druski dancing or a little Squid Game guard busting it down with the letters spammed in shapes and amalgamations. The posts got very abstract, very quickly.
The absurdity only accelerated when new slang terms were added to the mix like "dih" and "chopped." Soon after, emojis like the broken heart (💔) and the dead rose (🥀) were powerscaled and recycled as each one became too mainstream and needed to be replaced.
Again, the impulse to stay "underground" propelled the fast life cycle of each meme, making many JuggTok micro-trends fall through the cracks of the Know Your Meme database.

What Is 'SlimeTok?'
Like GIFTok, JuggTok started to become too "mainstream" last month and needed a replacement. JugTokkers came up with "SlimeTok" which would serve as a new hashtag and place of worship.
It's believed that TikToker @jugginnmysleep also coined SlimeTok as their February video is currently the first discovered utterance of the term. The video attests, "JuggTok is over. Those people found it and made it corny. Now we moving on to SlimeTok," notably replacing the wilted flower with a green heart emoji (💚).

Like JuggTok, SlimeTok is a portmanteau of TikTok and a slang term, this time being "slime" which means a friend, widely popularized by rapper Young Thug and his crew Young Stoner Life (YSL), which is sometimes called Young Slime Life. The group's debut tape was called Slime Language.
SlimeTok and JuggTok are thus pretty much the same. They're only different in name which is by design. People familiar with the evolution are already documenting its lore, trying to keep people up to date so they don't fall too behind.

What Is 'JollyTok?'
JollyTok is another offshoot of JuggTok and SlimeTok which is overly positive and "jolly." The visuals are pretty much identical to JuggTok with walls of text and Druski or JamWayne background videos. The only difference is the word choice which is hilariously optimistic.
