About
Don't Cry, Little Monster refers to a series of memes based on a scene form the animated short film Night of the Living Carrots based on the DreamWorks Animation film Monsters vs. Aliens in which character B.O.B. is forced to eat massive amounts of carrot puree against his will. In March 2025, the scene inspired edits and redubs which humorously highlighted poor treatment of various fandoms by companies.
Origin
On October 13th and 18th, 2011, parts one and two of the American animated short film Night of the Living Carrots premiered on the Nintendo Video video service.[1] In one scene of the short, character B.O.B. is told that he has to eat all the zombie carrots, which causes him to have a traumatic flashback to when he was force fed carrot puree at a military facility as a baby. In the flashback (shown below), General Monger tells crying B.O.B. not to cry, promising that he has enough carrot puree to last him a lifetime.[2]

Don't cry, little monster. Uncle Monger's got enough carrot puree to feed you your entire life. Jerry, bring over the feed hose, ASAP. The boy's hungry!
On March 10th, 2025, X[3] / Twitter user @Swag_K1RBY posted a clip of the scene to the platform, commenting, "Name a more tragic backstory than this". The post (shown below) garnered over 24.2 million views, 13,000 reposts, and 153,000 likes in four days.
