TikTok Dodging Trend is a trend set to "Forget" Slowed Down, a slowed-down remix of Pogo's song "Forget." The remix inspired the viral trend on TikTok in September 2022 where one user mock stabs and swings at another with a stick, bat or another object as they rhythmically dodge the stabs.
Origin
On February 17th, 2019, YouTuber[1] Eternal Tracks™ posted a slowed-down remix of the song "Forget" by Pogo, garnering over 360,000 views in three years (shown below). The track was uploaded to TikTok[2] as the backing track for an AMV in December 2020.
TikTok Dodging Trend
On July 7th, 2022, TikToker[3] @opppleeen posted a skit where a man with a black bat runs at a dancing woman in a red dress. He stabs at her left and right sides and she rhythmically sways her hips to dodge them. He then swings at her head and she leans back to dodge it, then throws a playing card in his mouth (shown below). The video garnered over 13 million views in two months. On September 1st, TikToker[4] @shiro_snake reposted the video set to "Forget," garnering over 24 million views in five days (shown below).

Spread
The trend spread over the following days as TikTokers recreated the video by @opppleeen set to the slowed-down version of "Forget." On September 3rd, 2022, TikToker[5] @yeldosaytuganov posted a video recreating the trend, garnering over 23.8 million views in three days (shown below, left). On September 4th, TikToker[6] @caleb.finn posted a video recreating the trend, garnering over 10 million views in two days (shown below, right).

On September 5th, TikToker[7] @yeedasu posted a parody version of the trend with their Shiba Inu, garnering over 10.9 million views in a day (shown below).

The trend continued to grow in virality into October 2022, and by October 5th, the associated hashtag "#dodgingtrend" accumulated over 3 million views.[8]
