This meme is inspired by the character Exdeath, a tree possesed by countless evil spirits, serving as the antagonist of Final Fantasy V, who is generally obsesssed with the Void. On GameFAQs, with the recent release of Dissidia: Final Fantasy, Exdeath saw a surge in popularity, for his easy to manipulate quotes and high ranking on tier lists. The meme itself generally revolves around Void puns, such as voiding contracts, tree jokes, references to turtles, and insulting other Final Fantasy characters.
