At January of 2014, Jack the Dipper released an expand dong image showing Squidward with a perverted look on his face and a slab of text reading "Squidward Delivers the Nasty Cephalopod Cock at 3:28 AM". This Expand Dong gained over 150 likes.

Another user going by the name of "That one chick" decided to use the picture as a template for another expand dong, relating to the Toonami series Space Dandy, seen below this sentence. This picture gained 80 likes, nearly 4/5 of the original.

A third usage of the original image was made by "TheAnt", with an expand dong involving Adventure Time. Unlike others, this wasn't truly successful and gained only 16 likes.

Once this happened, people started to call this an official meme originating from Expand Dong, due to other users starting to make other X delivers the Y's, forming atleast 6 pictures based on the same plot.
