On Wednesday, prankster Chris James tweeted, "Okay so let’s say someone has Tucker Carlson’s cell number, and also Alex Jones’ cell phone number, and also an AI Tucker Carlson voice. They could IN THEORY call Alex Jones and pretend to be Tucker, and have a full conversation with him. Anyways I just did that." Yesterday, Alex Jones confirmed he had indeed done that.

James stated the call he recorded between Jones and "Carlson" would be published on his Twitch channel, called Not Even a Show, on Monday. Judging from his subsequent tweets, it appears James didn't catch Jones saying anything particularly salacious.

"This… blew up so much more than I expected and now I’m stressed that people will be let down, and that they are expecting something in their head that the call won’t live up to," he tweeted. "Oh well, what can you do?"

According to Motherboard, however, James did get audio of Jones reacting to AI Tucker Carlson telling Jones to "s--- my t---ies."

James tweeted that he and Jones spoke on the phone after the incident. Jones said Tucker Carlson's lawyers were getting involved, and requested James go on his Infowars show. James declined, and says Jones "called him some names."

According to the Daily Dot, James lives in Canada, which may make it difficult for Carlson to pursue legal action against him. Additionally, Jones is reportedly bankrupt after being ordered to pay Sandy Hook families nearly a billion dollars for spreading defamatory falsehoods about the incident, and may not be in the best financial position to take James to court.
