Twitter Stans The "Cheesecake Looter" And The News Anchor Who Didn't Snitch On Her
The numerous protests against police brutality and systemic racism happening around America have led to an onslaught of disturbing, violent videos going viral over the weekend, but at least one protest video has garnered a chuckle from internet users.
While covering the protests in Seattle, Washington, KIRO-7 news cameras captured a woman in a mask walking through the streets with an immaculate cheesecake. One may assume the woman was a protestor who had looted the nearby Cheesecake Factory and walked away for a delicious treat, but what makes the footage particularly special is the news anchor analyzing the scene on-air, who says, "You see someone walking away with a cheesecake there, after the Cheesecake Factory had been looted. Unclear where they may have gotten that."

While the anchor was likely doing her due diligence as a reporter by not claiming the woman had stolen the cheesecake with only circumstantial evidence, Twitter users joked the anchor was supporting the protestor by "not snitching" on her.
I know it’s probs just journalistic instinct but I find this almost sweet. “Yes, uh, Cheesecake Factory was just looted but can we REALLY prove that is where this young person got a perfect, pristine-looking cheesecake?” We stan someone who won’t narc https://t.co/jmyDfyaSIL

Others were delighted by the protestor's apparent priorities amidst the looting of urban stores all across the country. While the looting taking place has divided onlookers who are otherwise sympathetic to the protests, most seemed to celebrate the apparent cheesecake looter.

Here's hoping that should the protests continue, the videos which circulate are more like this instead of the numerous, much more violent videos which are going viral on social media.
