Eric Andre, the creator and host of the critically acclaimed Eric Andre Show, has announced that he will be selling an NFT of his own on Thursday, June 24th, and it appears that almost no one is happy about it.

The announcement came via Andre's Instagram page, though the post has since been deleted, and features him calling them "Non-Flushable Turds" as he seemingly tries to call out people who are hypocritical for their own personal environmental waste and impact as a way of deflecting one of the biggest detractions against NFTs — their environmental effects.

This announcement led the way for many memes and comments to be made against him and his NFT project, which rapidly appeared shortly after.

When it comes to NFTs, it's well known that there is a lot of hate online surrounding the cryptocurrency world as a whole, with NFTs being seen as perhaps the most contentious application of blockchain technology. People often liken NFT projects to outright scams with the promise of having a picture that thousands of people can simply right-click and screenshot, which makes ownership "worthless" in the eyes of many skeptics.

People let Andre know their disdain for the project by making memes of them killing or otherwise maiming him over it, among other negative reactions to the announcement.
