Memers love making jokes that Joe Biden is a character in a Bethesda game, but that's usually because of his stilted speech patterns, not because of poor collision detection.

On Tuesday, a video of Biden speaking to reporters threw the President's existence in reality into doubt when it appeared as though he clipped in front of a microphone being held by reporter Steve Herman.

The clip is admittedly bizarre and was picked up by conspiracy theorists quickly.

However, thoughts of a green-screened Biden were quickly dashed when fact-checkers jumped in to explain the strange "clipping" effect. First, Herman clarified he was the one holding the microphone and he was very much in front of Joe Biden.

Others pointed to other angles from Biden's brief meeting with reporters that confirm he was indeed there and the microphones are all in their expected places.

So what happened? Turns out the strange video is a trick of perspective. A video posted by @Aesthetic_Degen shows the same clip from a different angle, demonstrating how the microphones' distance from each other causes the bizarre phenomenon of Biden clipping in front of the other from the original video.

So no, Biden is not dead or being green-screened into conversations with reporters, and he did speak to reporters on Tuesday. If indeed the White House were using CGI to make it appear as though Joe Biden was a real person, you'd at least hope they'd hire some better people.
