Republican Senator Markwayne Mullin pressed the President of the International Brotherhood of Teamsters, Sean O'Brien, during a senate hearing yesterday, with the dialogue culminating in both parties standing up and confronting each other.

The tense moment took place during a labor union hearing in the Senate Health, Education, Labor and Pensions Committee, where Teamsters President O'Brien appeared as a witness. Teamsters are one of the nation's largest and most influential unions.

This wasn't the first time Senator Mullin and O'Brien encountered each other during a hearing. In March 2023, the two exchanged heated words during another incident, accusing each other of underrepresenting their salaries.

Mullin called back to their earlier exchange upon getting a chance to speak to O'Brien during the hearing, saying, "I appreciate your demeanor today. It's quite different. But after you left here, you got pretty excited about the keyboard."

"In fact," Mullin continued, "you tweeted at me, one, two, three, four, five times." The tweets in question showed O'Brien calling Mullin a "greedy CEO," a "clown" and a "fraud."

O'Brien also supposedly tweeted, "You know where to find me. Any time, any place, cowboy," a statement Mullin chose to respond to during the hearing on Tuesday, saying, "Sir, this is a time. This is a place, if you want to run your mouth, we can be two consenting adults. We can finish it here," Mullin said as he gestured to the ground.

Mullin then pushed back his chair and began to rise to his feet, only to be cut off by Committee Chairman and Senator Bernie Sanders saying, "Stop it. You're a United States Senator."

It's worth noting that Mullin's Senate website says that he is a "former undefeated Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) fighter with a professional record of 5-0" who has been inducted into the Oklahoma Wrestling Hall of Fame."
