An ARG started in the post-credits of Matt Reeves' The Batman was recently solved, leading fans to discover a deleted scene featuring Pattinson's Caped Crusader interrogating Barry Keoghan's Joker. Keoghan was teased at the end of the film, shown laughing in Arkham Asylum, but fans couldn't get a good look at his face.

The deleted scene shows Batman interrogating The Joker at Arkham mid-hunt for The Riddler. It seems in Reeves' universe, Batman and The Joker have already had an encounter that landed Joker in Arkham. Batman goes to Joker for advice on how The Riddler thinks, and after giving some insight, Joker teases Batman as he broods off.

It seems Keoghan's Joker borrows several tics from the late Heath Ledger's interpretation of the character, such as the low gruff growl. His head is severely balding and he appears to have severe burns all over his body, in line with the Batman lore that The Joker became the clown prince of crime after falling into a vat of acid that warped his body and mind.

Keoghan finally announced that it was he who takes on the role of Gotham's most notorious villain, while others were impressed with his take on the character.

It will be some time before The Batman gets its likely inevitable sequel, so it remains to be seen how The Joker will fit into Reeves' universe. However, considering the end of the film, it seems likely he will play a major role.

Wait, this was the destination of an ARG? I thought they just straight-up released the scene in a very public way. If its release really was dependent on people figuring out clues leading to it, then that's actually brilliant, and almost justifies such an important scene not being in the movie itself; certainly better than putting it in Fortnite.
