Kanye West is no stranger to selling fashion items, as seen by his numerous different shoe launches and his muti-thousand dollar sweaters and shirts that have been on sale in the past. However, this time he had a collection of hoodies that were expected to drop on GAP, with some estimates saying to expect it around 6 to 7 a.m. EST, before eventually going live around 8 a.m. As expected from a Kanye drop, thousands attempted to cop at the same time, leading to a stop in website functionality. Once the website began working again, sizes quickly disappeared as people tried to pick up their own version of a $90 mono-colored hoodie.

Also, something that is very typical with Kanye drops: It was late. Previously, Yeezy's would just randomly appear on Kanye's site and you had to be refreshing at the right time to get it, but with an expected drop time being widely known about by social media users, it became a sort of cosmic joke on them when Kanye managed to make even GAP be late to release merch.

Not everyone was happy with the way the hoodies looked. Many quickly started to protest how the hoodies look like everything else you can find at other retailers, including Walmart, for 90 percent cheaper than the price Kanye was asking for. Despite their memes and attempts to stifle hype for them, the hoodies still sold out all the same, with people claiming that if you refresh the page throughout the day you can randomly find stray ones back in stock to grab.
