The premiere Minecraft YouTuber known as Dream was long rumored to be planning a face reveal, which was finally confirmed on September 19th. The prophesized day finally came on Sunday, October 2nd, when Dream tweeted out that today would be the day for the face reveal, causing the hashtag #DreamFaceReveal to trend for the entire day as fans of his started to react to the news that after years of asking, he was finally going to be taking off his iconic mask.

Due to not mentioning a time, however, many worldwide fans were suddenly finding themselves trying to stay up all day and night, waiting for the eventual face reveal and sharing their thoughts on social media.

Another sub-sect of memes that came from this event were memes faking the reveal, with people posting Goofy Ahh photos of other people, or of famous content creators, pretending that they were Dream all along.

This also started a counter-trend in which people began to make memes about the reaction of Dream stans, who are often known for overexaggerating everything involving him, with them acting like Dream's face will be the best thing in the world even if he's just a generic-looking person.

After announcing that his face reveal would take place within a YouTube video posted two hours from the time of his tweet, it was also stated that his next tweet would be a picture of his face, which caused the excitement to completely boil over as people started to count down the minutes until it finally came.

At 8:38 p.m. EST, the YouTube video was uploaded with a premiere time of 9 p.m., and an appropriate caption of Dream thanking his friends and fans, finally giving closure to a fanbase that has been anxiously awaiting this moment for years, and starting the next chapter in the creative life of Dream.

At the time of the video premiering, the waiting room had swelled to over 1 million viewers waiting for this pivotal moment to finally happen.

The viral video, titled "hi, I'm Dream," indeed finally revealed Dream's long-awaited face after one minute of teasing, as well as his real name, "Clay."
