There were always going to be memes when a team of investigators known as the Case Breakers announced they had identified the Zodiac Killer as the late Gary Francis Poste, but the current meme imagining Poste as an amateur media critic and poster is an admittedly bizarre divergence from the typical Ted Cruz Is The Zodiac Killer fare.

In the past few days, you may have seen some viral posts which claim to show Poste's reviews of film and music, including a dismissive review of the documentary The Hunt For Ted Bundy in which Poste says Bundy was "wildly overrated." Posts have also circulated purporting to show Poste's Metacritic history, revealing himself as an avid Lady Gaga and Weezer fan.

This may be obvious to point out, but all of these screenshots are fake. One can check the IMDb page for The Hunt For Ted Bundy for themselves and see there is no review left by a user named "Gary F. Poste." Furthermore, the Metacritic link that would lead to Poste's alleged account leads nowhere.

Despite the relatively obvious nature of the jokes, there are still some Twitter users who took them at face value.

Remember, netizens: it is really easy to go on the internet and tell lies.
