'Overwatch' Fans, Say Goodbye To 'McCree' And Hello To 'Cassidy'
The cowboy that was once known as Jesse McCree now goes by Cole Cassidy. Overwatch has rolled out the patch that changed the name of the gunslinger, as the real-life Jesse McCree was an executive named in the Activision-Blizzard lawsuit for workplace abuses.
The patch didn't offer much in terms of new gameplay tweaks, but voice acting has been altered such that all mentions of "McCree" now mention "Cassidy" instead.

The name change was controversial when it was announced back in August, and it seems players have mixed feelings about Cassidy, both from a gameplay perspective and from the perspective of Blizzard attempting damage control on the scandal.

Still, some fans admitted that even though the change was controversial, Cassidy is a pretty good name for a cowboy character.
